There is an incredible amount of "buzz on the beach!" The Panama City Beach Community Redevelopment Agency is expanding and enhancing the infrastructure of this area. The road network is being expanded, all exposed cable wires are being buried, a multi-modal transportation system is being implemented to include trolleys, bike and walking paths to make transportation more pedestrian friendly and so much more. The agency is also adding beautiful and aesthetic landscaping with palm trees. many park benches, arch entry points to the beach and so much more. Then there is Pier Park which is developed by the Simons Group. They own more commercial malls than any other entity in the United States. Pier Park is composed of 135 acres and 1.1 million square feet of restaurants, retail and entertainment. In addition, there is a city park connected to Pier Park with walking trails, conservation area and an ampitheatre where concerts are held every Thursday evening for the general public.
